Children’s books (traditional publishing)* and educational materials
Fun nature graphics!
Scientific illustrations and infographics
Brochures and signage
Fine art (digital, watercolor, ink, collage, textiles, etc.)
* For self-publishing authors: illustrating picture books is a time-consuming profession, and you’ll typically pay an illustrator $2,500-$6,000 (or more), depending upon the level of detail you’re asking for and the illustrator’s level of expertise. Book design and text alignment are additional jobs/expenses. I’m probably not the illustrator for you, but do make sure you’re knowledgeable about self-publishing and have lots of critique group time under your belt when you start searching for an illustrator!
